Bridges: Updates on Implementation
Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017 from 12-1 p.m.

The enactment of Sub. HB 50, codified in R.C. § 5101.141-5101.1414,  initiated the development of Bridges, Ohio’s new program to extend Title IV-E benefits for emancipated young adults up to age 21. Bridges will start enrolling participants in February 2018. Courts and other stakeholders play an important role in ensuring that Bridges supports a successful transition to self-sufficiency. A Bridges Judicial Workgroup developed a toolkit for courts to consider their role in the Bridges program, both statutorily and in terms of best practices.

This webinar will provide an opportunity to understand the provisions of the statute and consider the impact on older youth currently in care.

By participating in this webinar, you will better understand the:

  • Benefits available to Bridges’ participants
  • Role of juvenile courts in Bridges
  • Title IV-E eligibility and program requirements
  • Areas addressed in the Bridges Judicial Toolkit
